Step back in time by visiting the quaint towns situated along the Frisco Railroad.... Enjoy this 42 mile self-guided tour that winds along the Historic Frisco Railroad. Tour approximately one and a half hours.

PRESERVING THE PAST……
Waynesville, nestled in the valley along the old Wire Road and Trail of Tears, offers historic museums, quaint shops and restaurants. Tour the Pulaski County Courthouse Museum – Served as the county courthouse until 1993. History is preserved as you tour the War room, domestication room, farm room, original court room complete with wooden jury box and Judge’s stand. Saturdays - April through September. Donations: $2 per person. Tour approximately one hour.
Step back in time while touring the Old Stagecoach Stop Museum – Tour the oldest building in Pulaski County. The building served as a stagecoach stop and inn. During the civil war it served as a hospital. Tour guides are dressed in period clothing. Saturdays: April-September. Donations: $2 per person. Tour approximately one hour.
Enjoy a one mile walk along the Roubidoux River from the Waynesville City Park to Laughlin Park at the Roubidoux Spring, (Which is a certified site on the National Park Service National Historic Trail as an encampment on the Trail of Tears). Enjoy the wild flowers along the trail leading to the boardwalk above the Roubidoux Spring and underwater cave. Approximately 1 hour.
30 minutes to the West: Spend the day in Lebanon home to the Route 66 museum, Barrel Factory tour and wine tasting, shopping at the Factory Outlet and Case Knive store. Stop in at the Harley Davidson shop. Saturday nights April-September, rev up at the I-44 Speedway 3/8 mile dirt track.
30 minutes to the East: Enjoy a scenic drive to Rolla, take the historic walking tour, view over 300 antique autos at the Antique Auto Museum, learn about minerals at the Mineral Museum and Mine, enjoy a few moment viewing the Stonehenge replica on the UMR campus. Make a splash at Splash Zone or roll the afternoon away at the Zone Skating Rink.
A Day At the Park.... Enjoy the playground and skate park at the St. Robert City Park. Walk along the Roubidoux River that winds from the Waynesville City Park to the Laughlin at the Roubidoux Spring, (Which is a certified site on the National Park Service National Historic Trail as an encampment on the Trail of Tears). Enjoy the scenic drive to Happy Hollow park on Fort Leonard Wood. Take the 1 mile walk through the Shady Dell Park in Richland, take a dip in the olympic size pool. Learn about the prarie grasses and wildflowers, relax while enjoying a moment on the benches scattered around the pond and 1 mile walking trail.
